BMW is updating its lineup for the fall season, introducing new versions of its most popular models. The changes include new high-performance versions, more advanced technology, and exclusive customization options. These updates affect the entire range, from compact cars to large sedans and SUVs.
The Black Package adds a darker, more sporty touch to the M Performance range. This package is available for the BMW 2 Series Coupe, 4 Series Coupe, and 4 Series Convertible, but only in combination with the M Sport Pro package. It includes carbon fiber inserts on the dashboard and M steering wheel.
Design and Technology Updates
On the outside, the Black Package adds exclusive dark-colored emblems and an M logo on the side panels. The BMW M440i xDrive and M440d xDrive variants come with 19-inch M alloy wheels in Jet Black finish, which enhance the vehicle’s appearance.
The updated engine range for the BMW 7 Series, X5, and X3 is a key part of the new lineup. The 7 Series gains three new six-cylinder engine options: the 740d xDrive diesel with 313 horsepower, the 750e xDrive plug-in hybrid with 489 horsepower, and the M760e xDrive with 612 horsepower.
Engine and Performance Updates
The X5 and X5 M60e xDrive now offer hybrid and plug-in hybrid options, including the X5 50e xDrive with 489 horsepower and the electric iX5 60 xDrive with a range of up to 850 kilometers. The X3 M50 xDrive sees a power increase to 443 horsepower, while the electric iX3 40 xDrive debuts with 374 horsepower and a range of 621 kilometers.
Other updates include new 17-inch alloy wheels on the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the integration of Amazon Prime Video into models with the BMW Operating System 9 and X. The BMW Maps navigation system now combines data with Mapbox and Google technology, offering 3D views and detailed searches with images and reviews.
The M Performance division has also developed new high-pressure casting technology for its wheels, in collaboration with Entec-Stracon GmbH. This process reduces production time and energy consumption while allowing for a weight savings of up to 20% per wheel. The new wheels are available in 20 and 21 inches for the BMW M5 Sedan and Touring.
